BICYCLE REPAIR CLINICS
Basic Bicycle Maintenance
In this course you will learn the basics of keeping your bike running smoothly and safely. The clinic will cover the following topics – the key components and anatomy of a bike’s mechanical system, important tools, how to fix a flat, keeping your bike clean, and how to lubricate a chain. This is a great clinic for someone who would like to maintain their own bike but has never worked on a bike before. The course presentation will be a combination of lecture, discussion and hands-on practice. You do not need to have your own bike to participate in this clinic.
Introductory Bike Repair
In this course you will learn the how to make some important basic repairs. This clinic will cover the following topics – in-depth discussion of a bicycle’s drive train and break systems, tools, adjusting front and rear derailleurs, determining brake wear and adjusting brakes. This is a great clinic for someone who has some bike maintenance skills (can change a tire, is comfortable with using a screwdriver, etc.) and would like to learn more. The course presentation will be a combination of lecture, discussion and hands on practice. You do not need to have your own bike to participate in this clinic.
Intermediate Bike Repair
In this course is a more in-depth examination of your bikes drive train and brake system. This clinic will cover the following topics – in-depth discussion of a bicycle’s drive train and brake systems, tools, adjusting front and rear derailleur, determining brake wear, replacing brake pads, dealing with cables, replacing cables, examining chain wear and how to replace a chain. This is a great clinic for someone who has some repair skills (can change a tire, is comfortable with using a screwdriver, can make minor adjustments to their bike, etc.). The course presentation will be a combination of lecture, discussion and hands on practice. You do not need to have your own bike to participate in this clinic.
Tires, Tubes and Patching
This course is a more in-depth examination of changing tires and selecting tires. Topics be covered included useful tools, tricks to changing a tire, patching, selecting the right tire and / or tubes for the right activity. You do not need to have your own bike to participate in this clinic.
BICYCLE INTEREST CLINICS
Bicycle Commuting: The Basics
Want to start bicycle commuting? Learn all the ins and outs from a seasoned bike commuter. Topics covered include essential gear, safety equipment, dressing for your commute, the right bike for the job, and how to stay safe on the road. The course presentation will be a combination of lecture, discussion and demonstration. You do not need to have your own bike to attend this course.
Safe City Riding
Learn the rules of the road and how to keep yourself safe while riding in the city. Topics covered include traffic rules, safety equipment, signals, riding etiquette, and safer cycling routes in Toronto. The course presentation will be a combination of lecture, discussion and hands on practice. You do not need to have your own bike to attend this course.
Nutrition for Cyclists
Want to figure out a good fueling regimen for your cycling activities? Whether you’re gearing up for a cycle tour, training for a fondo, or commuting around the city, this clinic will give you insight into what foods can boost your energy and how to eat for your activity. The better your body is nourished, the easier your ride will be.
Introduction to Mountain Biking (presented by Hardwood Ski & Bike)
Want to learn how to Mountain Bike? This introductory course will run you through all the basics you need to get started. Topics covered include choosing the right bike, sizing, safety gear, clothing, basic mountain biking techniques, safety on the trail, and where to ride in the area. The course presentation will be a combination of lecture, discussion and hands on practice. You do not need to have your own bike to attend this course.

Want to get into Road Riding? This introductory course will run you through all the basics you need to get started. Cycle Tours in Ontario
Talk with a local expert about where to cycle tour in Ontario. This course will discuss some classics tours, from simple local overnighters, to longer tours. Routes, logistics and equipment needs for each course will be discussed. The course presentation will be a combination of lecture, discussion and demonstration. You do not need a bike to attend this course.
GTA Road Rides
Looking for some classic road ride routes in the GTA? This course will discuss some fun ride, from short easy rides to more challenging terrain and distances. Routes, logistics and equipment needs for each ride will be discussed. The course presentation will be a combination of lecture, discussion and demonstration. You do not need a bike to attend this course.
Yoga for Cyclists
Cyclists often experience tightness in the major muscle groups used in riding a bike. Yoga will help you feel more relaxed in the saddle; stay more focused while climbing and descending; and gives you added strength and flexibility in every phase of your riding. Yoga also makes you less injury-prone, promotes recovery and reduces stress. This will be an introductory level course, but regardless of your experience with yoga it will be a great way to start your day. Dress in comfortable snug fitting clothing that has some stretch. Please bring your own mat.
Bicycle Security
There are no guarantees, but locking your bike every time you leave it unattended is the best way to prevent somebody from walking away with your ride. This course will address all the important issues to consider when securing your bike. Where to lock your bike, how to lock your bike, what kind of lock to use, common mistakes, and bike recovery will all be covered. This course will be a combination of lecture, discussion, and demonstration. You do not need a bike (or a lock) to attend this course.
