Kick off the season with an after-hours social with our friends from POW Canada and Tourism Whistler. We'll set the scene for good times - you bring the stoke for snow.

Join us for the MEC x POW Season Opener in-store at MEC North Vancouver. Together with Protect Our Winters Canada (POW Canada), we'll present feature films and get you stoked for the upcoming winter season. Come and enjoy complimentary cool treats from Earnest Ice Cream, Superfood Hot Chocolate from Kokomo, and learn about how POW is mobilizing the outdoor sports community against climate change.

Protect Our Winters Canada is a passionate community of enthusiasts, professional athletes and industry brands uniting the outdoor community to address climate change. POW believes that the love of adventure in nature, demands participation in the fight to save and protect it.

Record-breaking mountain endurance athlete, Greg Hill, has never shied away from a goal. Through his time spent in the mountains he's seen the affects of climate change first-hand and came to realize the way he was approaching the mountains was only making the problem worse. Two years ago he changed his approach and set out to climb 100 peaks without burning any fossil fuels. But the question is: will it make a difference?

Free Ski + Board Waxing, presented by Tourism Whistler

Get your snow season started with a complimentary ski or board wax. Bring your skis or snowboard into the store during store hours, or at the event from 7:30-8:00pm on Sunday, November 17th and show your Season Opener ticket to redeem!

*One pair of skis or one snowboard per person. Waxing will take up to 7-days, and you will be contacted by MEC staffers upon completion.
