Wilderness First Aid for Mountain Bikers offers the Red Cross WRFA enhanced by the Blended Standard First Aid & CPR, allowing more time for practical hands-on techniques and scenarios. This course offers strategies for providing extended care for up to 24 hours, all in the context of backcountry or trail mountain biking.

Course topics include: Patient assessment methodology, carries and transports, musculoskeletal injuries, spinal injuries, shock, bleeding, soft tissue injuries, head trauma, triage, medical emergencies, and environmental injuries.

The course is taught in an outdoor setting and requires greater physical activity and endurance than typical first aid training. Each day will be spent in and around base camp, as well as riding your MTB for on-trail exercises and scenarios. You will be required to bring your own mountain bike, helmet, and associated personal protective equipment.
