London Rides Bikes 2019
Update: Online registration is now closed as bibs for the 75KM route are being prepared. Not to worry - you can still register in-store tomorrow at MEC London, and Saturday morning at St Julien Park. We can't wait to see you there!
Ride the beautiful city of London with London Celebrates Cycling! Join the City of London and MEC for a weekend of cycling fun.
This is a one-day road cycling adventure for individuals and families who are passionate about their active lifestyles.
Choose from a beautiful - Family 10K or Recreational 35K along the Thames Valley Parkway, or an Intermediate 75K route, that takes you along the quiet rural roads surrounding London Ontario.
All rides start and finish at St. Julien Park, 15 Tommy Hunter Way. There is free parking available on site.
Family 10K - Explore London’s multiuse pathway from St. Julien Park to Kiwanis Park on this family-friendly ride. There will be directional signage along the route, as well as washrooms and two rest stops along the way.
Recreational 35K - Ride along the south and west branches of the Thames Valley Parkway through many City parks to admire the many vistas of the Thames River. There will be directional signage along the route, as well as washrooms and three rest stops along the way.
Intermediate 75K - This route will take you along the quiet rural roads surrounding London and Ingersoll. There will be marshals and directional signs along the course, as well as three rest stops along the way complete with replenishments, washrooms, and a bike mechanic for minor repairs. Upon finishing, celebrate your accomplishment with food, drink and the camaraderie of other riders at St. Julien Park.
The route will be open to other users, so we advise caution while out on the road. While there is support, riders will need to be self-sufficient along the ride – pack appropriate clothing, helmet, spare tube, pump and patch kit, food and water if you feel you will need extra nourishment between aid stations.
- There is no fee for this event, but we require you to sign up online for all rides to agree to the event policy guideline

In order to ride the 75K distance MEC will be supplying a bib to help make our riders more visible on the roadway.
You can pick up your packet at any of the below times. We encourage all participants to visit the store at the following times to receive a special in store discount.

St. Julien Park, 15 Tommy Hunter Way - 7:30 am - 8:30 am
75K – Start time 8:30am – Pre Ride Talk at 8:15am
35K – Start time window: 9:15am to 9:45am (as soon as you arrive and sign in, you can begin your adventure)
10K – Start time window: 9:45 am to 10:15 am (as soon as you arrive and sign in, you can begin your adventure)

There is a large parking lot available at the start/finish area
There are bathroom facilities available at the start and finish area of the ride, along the 75K ride, and several locations along the 10K and 35K rides.
Our in house mechanics will be available for any last minute tweaking at the start/finish area. There will also be mechanics out on course (75km route only) to aid with any light unexpected issues during the ride.
MEC is pleased to offer in store Bike Maintenance 101 clinics for $20, including How to Change a Flat, and Know your Bike. If you are familiar with the basics, we also offer Bike Maintenance 201 clinics for $60 on topics such as Drivetrain, Derailleurs, and Brakes.
