MEC PADDLEFEST VANCOUVER 2019

Saturday, June 15 @ Jericho Beach

Dive into the world of kayaking, canoeing, and stand up paddleboarding. We've got lots on deck at our annual MEC Paddlefest, and everyone's welcome. Go for a test paddle, learn skills at a clinic, browse exhibitor's booths, hop into a yoga class, or join in on the festival fun. 

Bring your friends and family, and celebrate the fun of floating with good times outside!

Please help us keep our events green and consider carpooling or using alternative modes of transportation. 

Public Parking – If you plan to drive to the event, please note there is limited public pay parking southwest of event site. Parking is shared by Jericho Sailing Centre, Ecomarine, Windsure and park attendees. Free parking available on side streets and further west at Locarno.

Walking Routes – Event site is located next to a popular beach trail/walking path that connects Kitsilano to Jericho Beach and Spanish Banks.

Cycling Routes – Similar to the walkways, the paths are wide, cycle friendly routes. There are also bike supportive lanes on 4th Avenue leading towards NW Marine Drive. 

Public Transit – Bus stops are located at 4th and Marine followed by a 10-15 minute walk on a side walk to the Jericho Sailing Centre.

Tides will be low during the festival, which means there is a higher chance of exposure to sharp rocks and barnacles. We recommend wearing good water shoes or neoprene booties.

 

Sustainability

Help us keep our events green by bringing your own water bottle and using alternative modes of transportation to get to the festival.

Buying food at the event? Show your love of the ocean bring your own reusable utensils, bowls, plates, cups and napkins. Pack in, pack out. The ocean and all who live there will thank you.
