Paddle the Rouge - Jun15
Every year, Wildlands League hosts Paddle the Rouge at Rouge Beach Park to bring together youth and families from a diversity of backgrounds for a truly Canadian experience: canoeing or kayaking right in our own urban backyard. Rouge National Urban Park is home to over 1700 species of birds, fish, mammals, insects, reptiles, amphibians, and plants, including 23 species at risk. The Rouge Valley also contains one of Ontario’s best remaining examples of Carolinian Forest and the last intact watershed in the area. Paddle the Rouge, which takes place this year on Saturday June 15th, 2019, focuses on connecting urban youth to nature by offering free paddling lessons, kayak and canoe rentals, and family-friendly activities in Rouge National Urban Park.
