Bike Maintenance 101: Mega Clinic
Sorry, this event has passed.
Love your bike. Treat it right.
This 2 hour clinic will introduce you to the world of General Bike Maintenance and get you ready for some spring riding. We've combined our 3 favourite 101 Clinics to create an engaging session where attendees can start to get their feet wet and feel more comfortable working on their bikes at home. The 101 clinic is a classroom style course and recommended prerequisite to attending one of our more advanced 201 clinics.
We will be covering the following topics during the course:
Fix a Flat
By the end of this clinic, participants will learn to: remove a wheel, detach brakes (disc, "V" and cantilever), remove tire (use of tire levers), remove tubes (presta and schrader) and replace/repair tubes.
Customize Your Bike
By the end of this clinic, participants will learn to: swap out pedals and saddle, select the proper tires for your usage, install bike fenders, answer any additional questions you may be about your bike.
Basic Bike Maintenance
By the end of this clinic, participants will learn: how to diagnose common mechanical issues, basic bike maintenance and how to provide it, terminology associated with your bicycle and how to use it, knowledge about different bike parts, and their function
These are knowledge based clinics and we will provide you with all of the materials you might need. Come with your questions and sense of adventure. Bringing your own bicycle is not necessary; there will be one available for the demonstrations.
