Getting Ready for Summer Camp
SUMMER CAMPS ARE APPROACHING, ARE YOU READY?
Our "Getting ready for Summer Camp" seminar will be held on Thursday, May 16th at 6pm sharp. This one-of-a-kind featured seminar will introduce to parents what their child/children will and won't need for their upcoming camp season. The focus will be on what to expect and how to handle the gitters of a first timer. And best of all...it's absolutely FREE!
All families are welcome, with kids (Ages 5-12) being the focused audience.
YOU'RE IN GOOD HANDS...
Our team of seasoned and well-versed instructors come with a background as both current, and former camp councillors. This will assure you that your family will be taught practical, and real advice for what to expect come drop-off day. Although this seems kids focused thus far, don't worry parents, we haven't forgotten about you either. There will be a segment of this seminar geared towards educating the parents as well.
HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
- Kids will learn typical icebreakers, camp traditions, and how to tackle handling an overnight experience
- Both parents and children will learn the different gear needed for specific camps, and how MEC products can minimize the stress assoicated with getting those checklists fulfilled
- There will be a portion of the seminar where parents and the children separate for specific information sessions. Some of these topics include: Letting go and how to say good-bye, familiarizing yourself with the camp layout and schedule, what's the experience level of the camp councellors, the infamous labelling system, and so much more.
The first step is signing up for this Seminar at MEC Kitchener. Once you've claimed your spot, mark your calendar and get ready for a great evening filled with laughs, information, and a thank-you at the very end to show MEC's appreciation.
The seminar will begin in our Community Room, but upon your arrival please wait at the Front of the Store where you'll be meeted by our instructors.
