Enjoy Sunday morning yoga classes using the Iyengar method. These classes will have you progressively perform poses (asana), sometimes with the support of props. Poses may be held longer than other types of yoga allowing a deeper penetration into the body. Iyengar Yoga is accessible to anyone and regular practice increases strength and stamina, improves posture and concentration and quietens the mind to promote well-being.
All levels and abilities are welcome. Just $10 per session. You may also buy a 10 class pass for $75 at the cash desk/member service desk only.
NEW: Please bring a mat (and any other props - blocks, straps, etc) if you have one, water and comfortable clothes.
The instructor, Mamta Bobde, is a motivated yoga teacher trained in Iyengar yoga principles. She started practicing Hatha yoga as a teenager while growing up in India. She believes yoga should be practiced with safety and precision to tap into its full potential. She focuses on providing an enjoyable yoga experience conducive to the health of both body and mind. Parking is free for the first two hours of any visit to the North York store. Yoga is in the community room, far corner from the front door".
NOTICE: For all yoga and pilates sessions, Instructors kindly ask that you be in the room early. Late arrivals have caused interruptions to the flow of the mood and energy in classes. Doors will be locked at the start time even if you're pre-registered & paid. If you arrive late and miss a class make a note on the sign on the class door and we'll move you to the next session a week later (or to some other yoga class as you prefer).
