RUN A HALF MARATHON CLINIC

Improve your running skills and techniques with MEC, complete with lectures over a 10-week period.

This gradual training program is designed to prepare participants to run a Half Marathon over the course of 10 weeks. Participants often begin at different levels of fitness and are encouraged to complete each training session to the best of their ability. This clinic is based on a 5 day/week training plan, allowing you to run 20K+ at the end of the clinic. This program is progressive and fun; the amount of running varies, with the introduction of strength/hill/speed training to help you acheive your goals. Experience running at least 10K is required.

Weekly sessions will consist of a 25min class covering training, fitness and technique, nutrition, GPS and heart rate monitor usage and more, followed by a 40-60min group run session.

Need extra motivation? This clinic is positioned to keep your training on track for MEC Race THREE 2019. Add a race entry to your registration and celebrate your accomplishments with a race!

MEET YOUR CLINIC LEADER

Phillip Baird: Phil grew up in Burlington, ON with a focus on sports and athletics: hockey, football and strength training. After an ACL tear changed his ability to enjoy the activities that had been a big part of his life, he felt lost and was looking for new challenges. As a result Phil discovered running, and shortly after that, triathlon. Through a slow and steady approach to training and racing, he has been able to complete some epic endurance events: the Ultra 520K Canada (held in Penticton, BC) and the Patagonman Extreme Triathlon (held in Coyhaique, Chile). Phil looks forward to sharing his experiences and helping others make their personal challenges attainable.
