MEC Greater Vancouver: Road Race TWO, 10K/21.1K
Forget the movie ticket or the over-the-top burger – for about the same price you get chip-timed results, coffee and bananas, finish-line massages, plus unlimited high-fives from stoked MEC members and staff.
MEC Greater Vancouver: Road Race TWO is the second of five events in the 2019 MEC Greater Vancouver Road Race Series offering. Join us on March 2nd for the race that is aimed to get some dirt under those shoes and for those who are all about getting active and staying fit. For only $20 you can choose 10K race or for $25 a 21.1K race around the scenic gravel path around Burnaby Lake. Runners will experience a fun and welcoming race atmosphere complete with professional chip timing and complimentary coffee, fresh fruit and free post-race massages by the professionals at Allan McGavin Sports Medicine.

Sign up online before February 28th at 12pm.
Register in store (at MEC North Vancouver only) before March 1, 2019 at 7pm SHARP.
Note: race day registration is cash only, from 7:30 am-8:30 am.
***NOTE: For liability reasons, participants cannot sign up anybody other than themselves.
Friday, March 1st, 2019 from 3:00pm - 7:00pm SHARP at MEC North Vancouver.
Saturday, March 2nd, 2019 from 7:30am - 8:30am SHARP at event site at Burnaby Lake Sports Complex.
If you pick up your race package on Friday, March 1st, you will receive a 10% discount on your purchases that evening as per the following exceptions:
- Only valid on day of package pick up.
- Only on regular priced items, does not apply to clearance items (available in stock at the North Vancouver store).
- Cannot be combined with any other discounts or on any previous purchases.
- Not applicable on Blundstone items or Intense bikes

9:00am: 10K start
Burnaby Lake Park, Burnaby (by the Burnaby Lake Rugby Club)
The event site is at Burnaby Lake Park (3760 Sperling Avenue), located at the Sprott Street entrance.
Take the Trans Canada Highway. Exit at Kensington Avenue North to Sprott Street and Sperling Avenue. From Vancouver, take Highway #1 eastbound to Exit #32, Sprott Street. At the lights, turn left to cross over the highway overpass and stay in the right lane. At the traffic lights at Kensington Avenue go straight and turn left at the stop sign. Immediately turn right into the parking lot by the sports fields. The trail starts along the edge of the sports fields beyond the Rugby Club.
There are bus stops at the park’s edge as well – please consult Translink schedules for arrival and departure times.
Help us keep our races green by bringing your own water bottle. (Compostable cups and on-site recycling and composting will also be provided.)
All waste from event will be handsorted and recycled, composted and disposed of accordingly.
Our events are powered by electric generators by Portable Electric.
10K Route / 21K Route (21k route is 2 laps of the 10k loop) *Gravel Path

The Road Race Series continues in 2019 but this time as a regional approach with five great running events. The MEC Langley, MEC Vancouver, and MEC North Vancouver stores have combined forces to offer a really exciting series to showcase our exciting communities.
