MEC Adventures Peru Trip Descriptions:

The Inca Trail – hiking in Peru

The best of both worlds: Peru’s cultural richness, combined with one of the world’s most famous treks, the Inca Trail. You'll travel from Lima – a foodie hotspot – to the Andes mountains. Hike along valleys, over high-altitude passes and through cloud forests to Machu Picchu. All you have to focus on is trekking and taking in the scenery, since our award-winning guides, porters and cooks will prep camp and cook tasty meals for you along the way.

Lodge-to-lodge Salkantay trek to Machu Picchu

Want a bit more comfort as you hike in Peru? This trek from the Andes to Machu Picchu passes through spectacular mountain scenery and lets you curl up at night in a warm bed at a mountain lodge. The Salkantay is a great alternative to the Inca Trail; you get views of snow-capped peaks and wilderness on a backdoor route to Machu Picchu via Santa Teresa. Explore the Sacred Valley before you head back to Lima for delicious local food.
