Red Cross Advanced Wilderness First Aid - 40 hours - Jul13
Advanced Wilderness First Aid is a pre-professional course designed for hard-core adventurers and outdoors professionals who intend to spend days or weeks in significantly remote or challenging environments. The first weekend will concentrate on Standard Wilderness First Aid skills. During the second weekend, we will add more complex medical skills as well as refine your leadership skills when handling challenging wilderness situations. This course will prepare students for medical emergencies when hospitals and rescue services may not be available for an extensive time period. Students learn leadership, team management, risk mitigation and expanded treatment techniques to manage emergency situations that involve prolonged patient care, severe environments, and improvised equipment.
This intensive 40 hour course spans two weekends:
July 13-15 : Friday 5:00PM-9:00PM, Saturday & Sunday 9:00AM-5:00PM
July 21-22 : Saturday & Sunday 9:00AM-6:00PM
Our courses are held in Vancouver, BC in Pacific Spirit Park.
