MEC Kitchener Race TWO: 5K/10K
CHICOPEE SKI HILL
Our second run of 2018 on June 24th at Chicopee Ski Hill in Kitchener. Good times continue on this amazing course going up and around our iconic ski hill! Get chip-timed results, coffee and bananas, plus unlimited high-fives from stoked MEC members and staff.
Our 5K course is designed to provide a challenging but accesible run for any running skill level, while our 10K course will provide a challenge for committed and dedicated runners. We'd recommend that everyone running this race does put in a bit of pre-race trainng, but those that want to take on the 10K course should schedule some time dedicated to hill training. We recommend the following hilly local trail runs: Columbia Forest, Huron Natural Area, Bechtel Park, Hower Watson Park, Grand Valley Trail (Riverside to Beginmans), McLennan Park, Hydro-Cut Trails or you can even run the trails at Chicopee (Fee or Access Card required). Here is a Hill Training Guide for those looking to take the challenge on head first.
This is the second of five events in the 2018 MEC Kitchener Race Series. Our inclusive series will provide a little something for every racer- get out for a fun run with friends, bring a first-timer, or challenge your self and your PB. Get more information about the 2018 MEC Kitchener Race Series, or register here for all 5 events.
