MEC Burlington Race THREE
Push yourself to the max on the 1K hill challenge! Fastest to the top wins!
Or, sign up for the 60 minute challenge. Runners can opt for a 60 minute timed loop up and down the ski hill. After 60 minutes the loop will close and top 3 male and female finishers with the most laps and best times will be awarded medals.
There is a potential for a thunderstorm on Saturday morning. We are doing everything we can to make sure that we can run the Hill Challenge safely, however we must follow Environment Canada’s guidelines should severe weather occur the morning of the event. It wouldn’t be an MEC Burlington Spring Series race without some more rain, now would it? The current forecast calls for rain with a chance of thunderstorm and 95% humidity. In the event of severe weather including thunder and lightning, the Race Director will notify participants by email at least 90 minutes in advance to postpone the start time or cancel the event. Please keep an eye out for the forecast, and check your e-mail to receive event updates. If you have provided a valid email address and you do not receive a cancellation e-mail, the event is still going on.
Thunder/lightning before or during event
In the event we need to cancel due to inclement weather:
I will notify participants 90 minutes prior to the event start through email, the events site and on-site signage, as well as via staff and volunteers.
- If you can hear thunder, you can get hit by lightning. When thunder roars, consider stopping your activity immediately and monitor your surroundings
- Remember the 30-30 rule: When you can count 30 seconds or less between lightning and thunder, head for safe shelter
- Activity will be cancelled immediately in the event of ANY lightning
- MEC staff will assist with evacuation of site
- Remain sheltered for 30 minutes after the last clap of thunder
- No participant is allowed to continue the activity
All participants to go to their vehicle immediately, or a safe place (fully enclosed building with wiring and plumbing where possible). This is the East Lodge Race Headquarters at Kelso Conservation area, or to your vehicle.
Please return to the East Lodge to take shelter for 30 minutes after the last clap of thunder. Please return to your vehicle.

Excited for our next race, and itching to sign up for some more? Add some friends in the mix and you've got yourself one of the best trail relays in the country. Ragnar Trail Cottage Country is coming up at the end of August, and you won't want to miss it. Come by the Ragnar booth for more information, and you might even get some swag.
NOTICE: To help prevent theft, if you are picking up for a friend you must bring a signed photocopy of their i.d. We will also accept an email to you if you can present this upon pick-up. We will release bibs to family members of the same last name. If you pick up your packet before race day, you can by-pass the bib line when you arrive. Please pick your bib up in store if possible as this drastically decreases wait times on race day. Important: You must pick your chip up on race day. Chips are expensive and this reduces loss.
