Ottawa’s urban landscape is richly decorated with sculpture, murals, and installations – artwork that tells stories about who we are, where we come from, and what our dreams are made of. Unleash your inner aesthete and join MEC for a bike tour highlighting gems of the city’s outdoor public art collection. The pace will be leisurely, and you’ll have a chance to stop, look, learn, and take photos along the way.

Don't have access to a bike, but want to join this ride? No problem! MEC and RightBike will provide free bike rental for the City Public Art Ride. When you register, please let us know that you'll need a bike, and we'll reserve one for you.

Distance: 25 km

Pace: Leisurely (12 to 15km/hr)

Prerequisites: MEC rides are unsupported, so you must be prepared to deal with any minor mechanical issues that may occur, such as a flat tire. Please make sure your bike is in proper working order well before the ride. If you're not sure, bring it in to MEC during regular store hours for a free safety inspection. Our mechanics will inspect it, consult with you, and if it needs service, determine the best package value for your bike's condition.

A road bike, hybrid bike, or mountain bike with smoother rolling tires, is suitable for this ride.

You must wear an approved helmet and sign a waiver before joining our ride.

All of our rides are no-drop rides. We will go out of our way to make sure that no rider will be left behind.
