MEC BIKEFEST OTTAWA - Group ride: Mackenzie King
Ride departs from Bikefest at Byron Park, making its way across the Island Park Bridge, joining the bike path eastwards on the Quebec side of the river and north up into Gatineau Park to Gamelin (P3) before joining the Gatineau Parkway heading north.

This is the middle distance of the Bikefest group rides and requires moderate fitness. It will take in excess of 2 hours to complete.
Ride distance: 40km
Average Pace: 20km/hr
Prerequisites: This is a road bike ride. MEC rides are unsupported, so you must be prepared to deal with any minor mechanical issues that may occur, such as a flat tire. Please make sure your bike is in proper working order well before the ride. If you're not sure, bring it in to MEC during regular store hours for a free safety inspection. Our mechanics will inspect it, consult with you, and if it needs service, determine the best package value for your bike's condition.
You must wear an approved helmet and sign a waiver before joining our ride.
All of our rides are no-drop rides. We will go out of our way to make sure that no rider will be left behind.
