MEC Ottawa Race - The Westboro Mile

Steeped in history, this is the classic running race – have you ever wondered how fast you could do it?
The mile really is the perfect race distance, ideal for kids, a goal for new runners, fun for a whole family to run together and a real challenge for competitive runners.
Join us on Friday 10th June 2016 for this running celebration to kick off the new Westboro Fuse Festival weekend.
Consider yourself a speedster? Enter the competitive race, test yourself against the fastest in the National Capital Region!

Race HQ is situated in the MEC Ottawa parking lot, in the heart of Westboro, pick up your bib (from 5pm onwards), check your bag, grab a drink from our sponsor Nuun and of course, after the race grab a banana! The flat and fast course runs eastward down Westboro high-street, turning after 800m, and returns to its start point.
Bib pick up:
Collect your bib before the race itself on Friday 10th June (after 5pm, before 7pm).
Race chip timed by Sportstats. Awards for 1st, 2nd, 3rd M&F distributed according to Gun Time position.

This route is out-and-back, stay right of the yellow centre line.
Strollers please start at the back (chip time will ensure that your time is accurate).
Parking and getting there:
The MEC parking lot will be split to accommodate the race and will only be accessible via Danforth Avenue.
Richmond Road will be closed to traffic from 5pm, please be aware of parking restrictions if parking in the Westboro neighbourhood.
Competitive race standard
Runners registering for the competitive race are required to have met an entry standard over 5km distance: Men, sub 20minutes, Women sub 25minutes, please follow the link below to find out more.
