We love bikes, and we’re throwing a party in their honour. Come join the fun and connect with your local cycling community. You can try out gear, test ride a new bike, browse exhibitors’ booths, score deals at the MEC Bikeswap, or learn skills at a bike clinic. There’ll also be bike races, performers, entertainment, food vendors, and kids’ activities.

Bring your bike, your family, and your riding buddies, and embrace the awesomeness of wheels.

MEC Bikefest North Shore has something for everyone!

Location - MEC Bikefest North Shore is being held at Inter River Park In North Vancouver. It is a beautiful outdoor venue across from Capilano University.

Ride your bike to the event! We’ll have a secure bike valet on site and the Mudbunnies washing bikes!

Enjoy a tasty brew in the charity beer garden with proceeds going to Team Finn. There will an assortment of food including a delicious charity bbq put on by Mt Seymour's Lions Club


MEC will be putting on Bike Maintenence Clinics twice daily at the festival. Learn the basics of your bike from MEC's leading mechanics. Be at the MEC tent 5 minutes before the clinic begins.

Acrobag will be bringing their air bag to the event. This is a chance to try out new tricks! There will be video footage to be played back in slow motion and coaches working with you to improve your skills!

Sombrio will be there with there with the huge pump track and lounge pumping tunes!

Explore the trails with Shore play! Wade Simmons and Mark Wood will be leading guided rides on Saturday June 8th. It will be on first come, first serve basis from the NSMBA tent.

MEC's very own Stephen Matthews will be leading a guided ride on Sunday June 9th. Sign up at MEC's registration tent on Sunday.

Endless Bikes are going to be running riding clinics. Whether you want to take air, rail corners or just want to avoid a yard sale, the amazing coaches at Endless will help you develop a tool belt of necessary skills. These clinics are sure to leave you buzzing for hours.

Ever wonder the inner workings of your fork? Bicycle Hub and Bike Room are offering suspension clinics to give a deeper understanding of your bike.

Escape Adventures will there with fun filled activities for kids. Additionally, they will have a series of races for kids of all ages June 8th. All racers need to be registered by 12. The race for ages 3-5 (Run Bikes) will be at 1, ages 5-7 will be at 2, ages 8-10 will be at 3. 

Test your skills at the Tire Changing Competition sponsored by NSMB and MEC. The winner gets prizes and major bragging rights!

Sunday's Events


North Shore BMX Club will be having a series of BMX races in Inter River Park. Enjoy watching high action racing within the festival!

We are also very excited to have Megan Rose putting on The North Shore MTB Series. There will be two days of races including an XC Marathon, Super D and 2 Enduros. There will be on-site registration and award ceremonies for participants after the races.

Bike Swap  

Saturday, June 8 from 11am to 4pm.

Surplus cycling paraphernalia taking up space in your gear closet?  Have a currently-retired bike you’d like to pass on to a new rider?  Buy or sell used bikes and cycling gear at the MEC Bike Swap!

Bikes, tires, armour, helmets, chain rings, jerseys…everything cycling related is welcome!

Have MEC sell your gear for you.  $1 per tag, plus 15% commission if the item gets sold.  There is a $70 cap on commission fees.  If you have quite a few things to sell, you can rent a table for $10, or half a table for $5.   Items can be dropped off at the Swap site from 8am – 10am on Saturday June 8th.  Pick-up is from 4pm – 6pm that day.  Any unsold items that are not picked up during this time will be donated. Bike Swap is CASH ONLY.   Admission is FREE!
