MEC Learn to Run 10K
This intermediate 10-week training program is designed to prepare participants to take their running to the next level to run a 10km distance comfortably. Generally participants will begin at different levels of fitness and are encouraged to complete each training session to the best of their ability.
The amount of running done in the clinic will be increase by no more than 10% each week to help you achieve your goals. Participants will be introduced to interval training, long runs and hill workouts. Weekly sessions will consist of a 15 - 30 min class covering training, fitness and technique, followed by a 30 minute group run session. A training plan will be provided to you at the first session outlining the entire clinic including weekly presentations on varied running topics including nutrition, injury prevention, race prep and more!
Participants need to be comfortable with running 5km before starting the program.If you have never run before we recommend our Learn to Run 5K program to start.
Clinics will run every week on Thursday evenings for 10 weeks starting on January 11th from 5:30-7:00pm. No clinics on Stat Holidays. Weather cancellations communicated by email.
Clinic participants will receive one free entry into a race in the 2018 MEC Race Series
