MEC Lower Mainland: Trail Race THREE, 15K/55K

Race Day registration is only available for the 15K race on Sunday at Ambleside.
Race Three, the 15-55 is back for it's second year! This ultra will literally take you from sea to sky with over 2000m elevation gain- expect to have sore legs! Looking for something a little less mountainous? Sign up for our 15K route instead for a course that will take you from ocean to dam (Cleveland Dam).
Delicious and nutritious bananas and JJ Bean coffee will be available at the finish line for all participants. There will be a fundraiser BBQ for the Scouts for participants/public to purchase food after the race. A free meal will be provided for the ultra finishers after the event as well as a beer at Hearthstone Brewery. The top 3 finishers in each distance will be awarded a MEC medal.
Plus, participants are invited to join us at MEC North Vancouver on June 2nd at 7pm for a great presentation by World Ultra Running Champion, Ellie Greenwood, as she shares some tips and tricks for trail and ultra running! Free presentation, but spaces is limited so save your spot by signing up here !

Ambleside Park, West Vancouver
The event site is at Ambleside Park (1150 Marine Drive), located by the entrance to the Spirit Trail across field from concession
The entrance to Ambleside Park is located at the foot of 13th Street.
There are bus stops at the park’s edge as well – please consult Translink schedules for arrival and departure times.
Help us keep our races green by bringing your own water bottle. (Compostable cups and on-site recycling and composting will also be provided.)
Our events are powered with electric power from Portable Electric to reduce our carbon footprint.

***Please note: there have been recent changes made due to limited access to Baden Powell Trail from the base of Grouse and broken bridges closer to the Twin Falls area near Lynn Canyon.
Aid Stations will be stocked with water and electrolyte, fruit, candy, pretzels, potatoes. If you prefer something special, we suggest that you carry it with you or leave it in your drop bag (accessible at 27km and 38km)

Aid Station #2 ~13.5KM Mountain Highway (top of Executioner trail)

Aid Station #5 ~48KM Cleveland Dam *Cut off @4:15pm*
2:30pm at Aid Station #4 (Gazebo after Richard Juryn section in Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve).
Runners who do not make it to Aid Station 4 before 2:30pm will entered as DNF and be offered a ride back to Ambleside Park.
4:15pm at Aid Station #5 (Cleveland Dam returning from Grouse Mountain)
Runners who do not make it to Aid Station 5 before 4:15pm will entered as DNF and be offered a ride back to Ambleside Park.
If at any point and time a runner decides they cannot continue they MUST report to an aid station and notify staff.
Post Race Meal:
Enjoy a delicious smokey or hotdog cooked fresh for you from one of our great local Scouts Canada group! Vegetarian options provided.
Ultra participants will also get a FREE BEER at Hearthstone Brewery after the race by bringing their race bib!
There will be 3 aid stations for the 15k run with water and electrolyte.

We’ll have live unofficial race results within one hour of runners crossing the finish line at the results station. Official standings will be posted on the Trio Sports Events site as well as this page within two business days of the event. Be sure to check back!
We’ll be giving out medals to the top three male and female finishers in each distance category (no age categories awards).
