In fact, both of our instructors are the lead avalanche forecasters for North Shore Search and Rescue (NSR) and have intimate knowledge of the terrain of the North Shore Mountains in Vancouver! The avalanche skills training level 1 course provides an avalanche decision making foundation for recreational backcountry skiers and snowboarders.

Our AST1 Plus course is 1 evening session and 2 full field days. The course is based on standardized content from the Canadian Avalanche Center. We cover all the AST1 theory and then focus on learning in the field with real world examples from guiding and SAR.
