Lighten your load with some principles of Ultralight Treking. In this clinic, we will discuss the pros and cons of lightweight backcountry travel, and examine some ideas and techniques to help achieve the ideal. Gear selection will be examined from the perspectives of technology and simplicity, and a lighter backpack will be balanced against preparedness and safety. Finally, we’ll discuss thruhiking, covering preparation, planning and goals.

Clinic Leader

Over the last twenty years, he has lived on four continents, climbed throughout North America and Japan, and slept for up to six months of the year on the same uncomfortable yellow foam pad.
