Get out into the backcountry with these weekly sessions at the Downtown location. 

Join our camping specialists every Friday night from 7pm - 8:30pm for a clinic designed to introduce you to the skills and equipment required for your next trip into the wilds!

Backcountry Topic Rotation:

We will provide all of the materials you need for this clinic. Come with your questions and a sense of adventure! 

 

  • Introduction to Camping Equipment - tents, sleeping bags, packs and much more
  • Introduction to Map and Compass Navigation  - basic level map reading, and use; compass feature explanation
  • Backcountry Safety- how to stay safe and comfortable with proper gear and bear knowledge
  • Introduction to Knot Tying - learn some basic knots and what their best use is
  • Introduction to Digital Navigation - basic introduction to GPS functions and features
  • Introduction to Camp Cooking - learn about stoves, fuel and cooking for different activites. We will also share some of our top-secret tried and tested recipes.
  • Intermediate Knot Tying - more complicated knots and their applications
  • Gear Repair Basics - patching, restringing poles, zipper repair and more
  • Backcountry Hiking - what gear you need and how to pack and plan for your overnight expeditions

We will provide all of the materials you need for this clinic. Come with your questions and a sense of adventure!
