MEC Learn to Run 5k
What better way to kick off a new activity than with the MEC Learn to Run 5K Clinic!!
Start off right with this beginner-friendly gradual training program that is designed to prepare participants to run 5km over the course of 10 weeks. We welcome all levels of fitness and encourage participants to complete each training session to the best of their ability.
The Learn to Run 5k program is based on a run/walk progression, allowing you to run for 30 minutes at the end of the clinic. It is progressive and fun, and the amount of running done each week increases slightly to help ensure you achieve your goals.
No past running experience is required. Weekly sessions will consist of a 15 - 30 min class covering training, fitness and technique, followed by a 30 - 40min group run session. A training plan will be provided to you at the first session outlining the entire clinic.
All Clinic participants will receive one FREE entry into MEC Race Four!
Clinics will run on Tuesday evenings starting July 18th, 2017, from 5:30-7:00PM. (Please note you will be given a weekly training schedule. If you have to miss a weekly meet, our staff will let you know how to proceed.)
